An Occupy Oakland protestor in Frank Ogawa Plaza
Oakland is now occupied territory.
Joining in solidarity with similar movements that have sprung up in 25 major U.S. cities in protest of Wall Street capitalism, a crowd of almost 1,000 people - not bad for a rainy day - descended on Frank Ogawa Plaza - rechristened Oscar Grant Plaza for the occasion - Monday for a peaceful, and surprisingly interesting protest.
Several attendees who set up tents, stayed the night - and may continue to do so till they feel their voices are heard.
