Green industries offer hope in this grave economic time. These are some of the few industries actually creating jobs right now. During this difficult economic time we need to do everything we can to create jobs. But Prop 23 backers want to hamstring these vibrant industries. Ridiculous.
On Sunday, October 10, a dream came true on a street corner near downtown Oakland, California. On 10/10/10, 350.org organized a Global Work Party — an international day of service for climate action — Oakland's Green Youth Arts & Media Center got hooked up to the free power of the sun.
October 27, 2010 - LOS ANGELES – Today the Green Jobs Bus rolls into Los Angeles to meet leaders in the California green jobs economy and to educate Americans on how Prop 23 and other legislation threatens the emerging industry.
Today, the Green Jobs Bus is leaving to tour California and speak to leaders in the state's green economy. Led by Green For All videographer Ryan Dexter and Green For All Academy Fellow Jennifer Johns, the Green Jobs Bus team will interview pioneers creating green jobs in 10 cities, including Oakland, Sacramento, Fresno, and Los Angeles.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times: "The president is opposed to Prop. 23 -- a veiled attempt by corporate polluters to block progress towards a clean energy economy," White House spokesman Adam Abrams announced Wednesday. "If passed, the initiative would stifle innovation, investment in R&D and cost jobs for the state of California."
